Using curator feedback

Turn curator feedback into actionable improvements for your music.

Curator feedback is one of the most valuable things you get from pitching. Even rejections contain useful information if you know how to read them.

Common feedback themes

Production quality comments usually point to mixing or mastering issues. Consider getting a second opinion from a professional engineer.

Playlist fit comments mean your targeting needs adjustment. Try different genre tags or look for playlists that better match your actual sound.

Energy or vibe comments suggest the emotional tone does not match the playlist. A mellow indie track will not fit a high-energy playlist, even if the genre is right.

Acting on feedback

Look for patterns across multiple responses. One curator saying something is an opinion. Five curators saying the same thing is data you can act on.

Building relationships

When a curator approves your track, remember them. Follow their playlist. Submit your next release to them again. Building relationships with curators who like your sound pays off over time.
